Pirates Take Second at Salisbury Invitational

Salisbury, M.D. – Both men's and women's cross country teams garnered a second place finish out of five teams at the Salisbury Invitational on Saturday, August 31st.
Jesse Southard, 26:20.65, and John Loeffel, 26:23.40, led the men's side with third and fourth place finishes. Rounding out the men's finishers at the top was Cole Kretlow and Brandin Affrunti at seventh and tenth with times of 26:44.91 and 27:06.06, respectively.
On the women's side, the Pirates nabbed three of the top four finishers with Kassi Yocco (22:33.22), Emma Newgarden (22:35.43) and Emily Hernandez (22:39.93) grabbing places second, third and fourth.
The Pirates will run again at the Stony Brook Invitational on Saturday, September 7.
