
Johannsdottir Nets BIG EAST Freshman of the Week

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Freshman Harpa Johannsdottir (Akureyri, Iceland) was named the BIG EAST Conference women's soccer Freshman of the Week on Monday.
The Seton Hall goaltender made two big saves in the Pirates' 1-0 victory over Lafayette at the Red Bulls Practice Facility on Thursday. The win evened The Hall's record at 1-1 and provided head coach Ciara Crinion her first career victory. Johannsdottir has played every minute of the Pirates' games so far this season in goal and has a 0.97 goals against average.
Butler's Macy Miller was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, while Georgetown's Meaghan Nally is Defensive Player of the Week. The Goalkeeper of the Week is Marquette's Maddy Henry. Members of the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll include: Creighton's Katie Sullivan, DePaul's Morgan Turner, Marquette's Kylie Sprecher, Providence's Elayna Grillakis and St. John's Zsani Kajan.
Seton Hall will return to action tonight when it makes the short trip to West Long Branch, N.J. for a contest at Monmouth. The game is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
