THE GAME
Seton Hall will open the 2020-21 season on Tuesday, December 8 with a non-conference contest against local rival Saint Peter's in Walsh Gymnasium. Tip time is scheduled for Noon. Per COVID-19 protocols, no fans will be permitted to be in attendance.

MEDIA
The game will be a Pirate Sports Network broadcast with Sean Saint Jacques and Phil Stern on the call. As usual, the game will also be available over the airwaves at 89.5 FM WSOU and at wsou.net. Ronny Jerez and Wilnir Louis will describe the action on the radio. We'll also have the obligatory live stats available as well.

ELMORE UNANIMOUS PRESEASON ALL-BIG EAST
Senior Desiree Elmore was a unanimous selection to the 2020-21 Preseason All-BIG EAST Team. It's the second straight year she's been picked in the preseason. Elmore is the Pirates' top returnee with 13.0 points and 7.2 rebounds per game last season.

PIRATES TABBED SIXTH
The Pirates are predicted to finish sixth in the 11-team BIG EAST Conference according to the Preseason Coaches' Poll. Returning member Connecticut was tabbed as the unanimous favorite to win the conference title this season, while defending champion DePaul was picked to finish second. Marquette, St. John's and Creighton were the other programs selected to place above The Hall. The Pirates were just one point behind Creighton for fifth place.

EXCEEDING EXPECTATIONS
In seven years under Head Coach Anthony Bozzella, the Pirates have either met or exceeded preseason expectations six times. In 2015, The Hall claimed the regular season title.

BEMBRY GRANTED WAIVER
Transfer Mya Bembry has been granted a waiver by the NCAA and will be eligible to compete immediately. She is coming off a freshman year at Penn State University. Bembry will have three years of eligibility remaining beginning with the 2020-21 campaign.

LAST TIME AGAINST SAINT PETER'S
Seton Hall last played Saint Peter's two seasons ago, a 90-47 throttling of the Peacocks in Walsh Gymnasium on Dec. 2, 2018. Nicole Jimenez connected on a school-record nine three-pointers and scored a career-high 33 points.

Also in double-figures for The Hall was Victoria Cardaci, who went for 12 points on 4-of-10 shooting from 3-point range. The Hall stifled the Peacocks to a 29.5 percent shooting day and set new season-highs with 51 rebounds, 23 steals and eight blocked shots.

Seton Hall has now won seven straight games in the series. The Peacocks' last win came on Dec. 9, 2005.

SCOUTING SAINT PETER'S
Saint Peter's is coming off a 9-21 season in 2019-20, which included losses in five of its final six games. Only four Peacocks return from that campaign, including their top two scorers, Taiah Thornton and Kendrea Williams. Thornton was named to the 2020-21 MAAC Preseason Second Team.

Collectively, Saint Peter's was picked to finish ninth in the 11-team MAAC according to the coaches' preseason poll. The Peacocks bring a very new team into 2020-21, which includes six freshman and four transfers.

The Peacocks have dropped two of their first three games so far this season with a season-opening victory over NJIT, and subsequent losses to St. John's and Morgan State. Thornton was named MAAC Player of the Week on Nov. 30, while Ajia James earned Rookie of the Week honors.
