LAST GAME
Senior Alexis Lewis (Wilkes-Barre, Pa.) had a team-high 18 points, including 13 in the second half, as the Pirates defeated Georgetown, 61-47, at McDonough Arena on Friday. Seton Hall trailed by as many as eight points early, and was tied with Georgetown at the half, but outscored the Hoyas 21-9 in a game-changing third quarter.
Â
Lewis finished with 18 points on the strength of four made three-pointers to go with 10 rebounds for her second straight double-double. Junior Desiree Elmore (Hartford, Conn.) also registered a double-double with 10 points and a team-best 11 rebounds.
Â
Trailing 28-25 early in the third quarter, Seton Hall went on an 11-0 run. Elmore converted on a breakaway layup to give the Pirates their first lead of the game with 8:31 left in the third quarter, and a jumper by Mya Jackson (Wilmington, Ohio) two minutes later put them on top, 36-28.
Â
Lewis connected on three-pointers in back-to-back possessions to extend The Hall's run to 17-3. Her second gave the Pirates a 44-31 lead with 2:31 left in the third quarter and sent the Hoyas to a timeout.

Last Meeting: Villanova 61, HALL 55 – Jan. 3, 2020
Â
LAST TIME AGAINST VILLANOVA
Senior Shadeen Samuels (Ossining, N.Y.) recorded a double-double, and reached 1,000 points for her career, but The Hall made just five of 27 three-point attempts in a 61-55 loss to Villanova in their first meeting this season on Jan. 3 in Walsh Gym.
Â
The Pirates trailed by 10 points entering the fourth quarter, but found some late magic. The Hall opened the quarter with a 7-0 run, and a three-pointer by Alexis Lewis cut Villanova's lead to three points, 49-46, with 7:34 left to play.
Â
A mid-range jumper by Johnson sliced the Wildcats' lead to just one, 53-52, with 3:33 to go, but Villanova's Mary Gedaka answered with a made jumper. A layup by Desiree Elmore again pulled The Hall to within a point with 1:42 left, but Villanova's Raven James hit a three-pointer, her only field goal of the game, to boost the Wildcats lead back up to four points with 1:19 left. Seton Hall couldn't get closer than three points over the final 79 seconds.
Â
SCOUTING MARQUETTE
The Wildcats are coming off a 19-13 season, which included a 9-9 BIG EAST mark. They qualified for the WNIT, defeating Old Dominion in overtime in round one before falling in round two at West Virginia. The Wildcats swept Seton Hall in their home-and-home series with the Pirates last season, a feat they've accomplished each of the last three years.
Â
This year, Villanova enters its second contest against Seton Hall with a 12-9 overall record. The Wildcats are tied with Seton Hall at 6-4 in conference play and are coming off a thrilling overtime victory over St. John's, 66-64, on Friday. Last weekend, they fell at Marquette and DePaul.
Â
Villanova is led by BIG EAST Freshman of the Year favorite Madison Siegrist, who is averaging 20.5 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.
Â
