Samuels Named to Honor Roll for Third Straight Week

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Seton Hall senior Shadeen Samuels (Ossining, N.Y.) was named to the BIG EAST Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.

It was the third straight week she's earned the honor roll recognition and the fourth week this season.

Samuels had another strong week for Seton Hall, leading the Pirates in both scoring and rebounding. The BIG EAST Preseason Player of the Year filled the box score in a victory over Marquette on Friday. Samuels had 17 points and tied for the team lead with eight rebounds, six assists and three steals. On Sunday, she showed her strong all-around game again, registering 18 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals against No. 14 DePaul.

Creighton's Jaylyn Agnew was named BIG EAST Player of the Week, while Villanova's Maddy Siegrist earned Freshman of the Week honors. In addition to Samuels, members of the Weekly Honor Roll include Butler's Kristen Spolyar, DePaul's Chante Stonewall, Georgetown's Taylor Barnes and Villanova's Mary Gedaka.

Seton Hall will return to action on Friday, February 7 when it hosts Marquette in Walsh Gymnasium. The game will be televised nationally on FS2, and of course will be provided on the radio by 89.5 FM WSOU and wsou.net. Tip-time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.
