
Turner, Pirates Drop Contest at DePaul, 3-0

CHICAGO – Senior Emilee Turner (Kaysville, Utah) had a team-high 10 kills, but the Seton Hall women's volleyball team fell in three sets at DePaul, 3-0 (23-25, 19-25, 16-25), on Friday.
Turner had a team-best 10 kills, only two attack errors, a team-best .333 attack percentage and four blocks. Junior Raygan Murray (Rocky River, Ohio) recorded a season-high 23 digs.
SET 1:
The opening set was one of the closest the Pirates had played all season with neither team grabbing a lead greater than two points throughout. After seven lead changes and 16 ties, a block by Amanda Rachwal (Bethlehem, Pa.) and Madeline Matheny (Wilmington, Del.) gave The Hall a 21-20 lead and forced a DePaul timeout. The Blue Demons, however, scored five of the final seven points to win set one, 25-23.
SET 2:
The Pirates trailed early in set two, but a kill by Turner cut the Blue Demon lead to 11-9. DePaul responded through with four straight points to take a 15-9 advantage and force a Seton Hall timeout. Another kill by Turner cut The Hall's deficit to 18-15, but the Blue Demons bounced back with three straight to up their lead to 21-15.
SET 3:
DePaul never trailed in the final set, leading wire-to-wire. Down 7-4 early in set three, The Hall scored four straight points to take an 8-7 lead. The Blue Demons, however, responded with six of the next seven points to grab a 13-9 advantage. A block by Rachwal and Matheny cut The Hall's deficit to 18-14, but DePaul scored five of the next six points to take a commanding 23-15 lead. They went on to win the final set, 25-16. The Blue Demons had a match-high .393 attack percentage in set three.

Seton Hall will return to action tomorrow when it travels to Milwaukee for a match at Marquette. Match time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. ET.
