
Wagner Paces Pirates to Bronze Finish at Metropolitan Championship

Bronx, N.Y. - Seton Hall cross country junior Patrick Wagner (Jenkintown, Pa.) produced a top-10 run to lead the Pirates to a third-place finish at the 2021 Metropolitan Championship, Friday at Van Cortlandt Park. Wagner crossed the finish line of the 8K race at 27:26.5 to earn ninth place out of 60 runners.
Wagner has now finished among the team's top three in five straight races to start the season.
Wagner was one of four Pirates in the top-25 of the race. Senior Cole Kretlow (Oakland, Calif.) crossed at 28:00.4 to place 13th. Senior Justin Allone (Holtsville, N.Y.) ran a time of 28:23.4 to finish 20th. Junior Declan Harkness (Stewartsville, N.J.) was less than a second behind Allone to place 21st with a time of 28:24.2. Junior Nicholas Minikel (Milltown, N.J.) was 25th with a time of 28:48.2.Â
Seton Hall will race in the Leopard Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 16 in Easton, Pa.
