LAST WEEK
Seton Hall is coming off one of its best weekends in recent memory. The Pirates upset Connecticut in four sets on Saturday before heading to Queens and sweeping St. John's on Sunday.
Â
Four Pirates recorded a double-double and sophomore Perri Lucas (Chicago, Ill.) erupted for a season-high 16 kills as the Pirates upset Connecticut, 3-1 (26-24, 22-25, 25-23, 25-23), on Senior Night, Saturday. Lucas had a season-high 16 kills, only four attack errors and a .343 attack percentage to lead the Pirates to their fifth BIG EAST win of the year. Junior Madeline Matheny (Wilmington, Del.) had one of her best matches as a Pirate collecting 12 kills, only one attack error, a team-best .500 attack percentage, 16 digs and three assists.
Â
Three other Pirates also had double-doubles against Connecticut, Taylor Jakubowski (Lake in the Hills, Ill.), Cagla Bengi (Bursa, Turkey) and Anna Holland (Waukesha, Wis.). Jakubowski tallied a team-high 24 and 13 digs. Bengi had 20 assists and 13 digs, while Holland notched 16 digs and 12 assists.
Â
Lucas, Emilee Turner (Kaysville, Utah) and Tsvetelina Ilieva (Sofia, Bulgaria) combined for 24 kills and only four attack errors as The Hall team swept St. John's, 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-20), on Sunday. Lucas was brilliant again for Seton Hall, recording a team-high nine kills with only two attack errors and a .389 attack percentage. She also had five blocks and two digs. Turner finished with eight kills, only one attack error and a team-best .636 attack percentage, while Ilieva had seven kills, only one attack error, five digs and two blocks.

SCOUTING CREIGHTON
The Pirates are looking for a season-series split when Seton Hall and Creighton match up on Friday. On Oct. 2, Jakubowski recorded a double-double, but The Hall fell to No. 16 Creighton, 3-0 (24-26, 15-25, 18-25). Jakubowski had team-highs of 12 assists and 10 digs for her ninth double-double of the season and 16th of her young career. Ilieva had a team-high seven kills.
Â
Creighton is in the midst of another spectacular season and enters the weekend ranked No. 21 in the nation with an impressive 26-3 overall record and a 14-2 mark in BIG EAST play. The Bluejays are currently tied with Marquette for first place in the conference and the right to claim the No. 1 seed in the upcoming BIG EAST Tournament.
Â
Creighton enters the weekend having won nine straight matches and has lost only two sets during the streak. Their last loss came in five sets at Connecticut back on Oct. 16. Since then, they've lost only a single set to Marquette on Oct. 29 and a set to Butler on Nov. 7. The Bluejays' two conference losses came to the aforementioned Huskies and at St. John's back on Oct. 1. Both teams Seton Hall defeated last weekend.
Â
SCOUTING PROVIDENCE
Seton Hall will look to complete a season sweep of Providence when they meet up on Sunday.  The Pirates outlasted the Friars in five sets in Walsh Gym back on Oct. 1. Lucas had a season-high 17 kills and both Jakubowski and Anna Holland (Waukesha, Wis.) had double-doubles as The Hall outlasted Providence, 3-2 (25-18, 25-19, 22-25, 26-28, 15-13).
Â
The Pirates dominated the first two sets, but Providence rallied to win set three and a long fourth set, 28-26, to tie the match and force a decisive fifth set. Despite trailing 12-10 in the fifth, The Hall bounced back to edge the Friars, 15-13, to win its first BIG EAST match of the season.  Lucas was the driving force offensively for the Pirates, collecting 17 kills, only three attack errors, a .359 attack percentage and six digs. Jakubowski had a 20/20 game, registering a season-high 27 assists to go with a career-high 21 digs. Holland tallied 27 digs and 10 assists.
Â
Providence enters the weekend with a 15-14 overall record and a 3-13 mark in BIG EAST play. The Friars are currently tied for 10th place in the conference standings and have been eliminated from postseason play. They trail the Pirates by three games in the standings.  Â
Â
The Friars have dropped their last six matches and have won only four sets during that span. Most recently, Providence dropped a pair of four-set matches, at Villanova on Friday and at Georgetown on Saturday. The Friars' BIG EAST victories this season have come over Georgetown on Oct. 24, Villanova on Oct. 22 and at St. John's on Oct. 2.
