Seton Hall will return to action on Saturday, February 27 when it travels to Villanova for a BIG EAST battle between two teams next to one another in the standings. Â Tip time is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.

The Seton Hall women's basketball team set program records for points and three-pointers made in a 108-65 rout of Xavier on Wednesday for its third straight victory.

Four Pirates scored at least 17 points, and sophomore Lauren Park-Lane (Wilmington, Del.) set the Seton Hall single-game record with 15 assists. The dynamic Pirate point guard added 17 points to collect her first career double-double.

Andra Espinoza-Hunter (Ossining, N.Y.) went off for a game-high 25 points on the strength of 5-for-8 shooting from three-point range. Sophomore Victoria Keenan (Bethlehem, Pa.) tied her career-high, going a perfect 7-for-7 from downtown. Mya Jackson (Wilmington, Ohio) also registered 21 points, and was 5-for-7 from long-range. Combined, the Pirates drained a new Seton Hall-record 17 three-pointers.

The Pirates shot season-highs from the floor (61.9%) and from three-point range (60.7%).

EARLIER THIS YEAR AGAINST VILLANOVA
Sophomore Lauren Park-Lane scored a game-high 27 points, but the Pirates fell to Villanova, 78-71, at Walsh Gym on Jan. 6.

Senior Desiree Elmore and Andra Espinoza-Hunter also reached double-figures in scoring for the Pirates. Elmore had 15 points, including 13 in the first half, to go with a team-high eight rebounds, three assists and two steals. Espinoza-Hunter had 10 points and three rebounds.

Trailing 43-36, The Hall went on a 9-0 run, and a layup by Alexia Allesch gave the Pirates a 45-43 advantage with 6:30 left in the third quarter. Villanova again bounced back though, and with the score tied at 47, Maddy Siegrist hit a three-pointer that gave the Wildcats the lead for good.

SCOUTING VILLANOVA
The Wildcats are coming off a successful 18-13season overall and an 11-7 mark in BIG EAST play. Villanova closed the regular season with wins in four of their last five games and defeated Xavier in overtime in the quarterfinals of the 2020 BIG EAST Championship. The Wildcats' season ended in the semifinals with a 72-59 loss to Marquette.

This year, Villanova is predicted to finish seventh in the 11-team BIG EAST Conference, according to the Preseason Coaches' Poll, one spot behind the Pirates. Sophomore Maddy Siegrist was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team.

Villanova enters Saturday's contest with a 14-4 overall record and a 9-4 mark in BIG EAST play. The Wildcats have won five of their last six games, including a 63-58 overtime victory at Providence on Wednesday. Maddy Siegrist had 24 points and seven rebounds in the victory.

UP NEXT
Seton Hall will complete the 2020-21 regular season on Monday, March 1 when makes the short trip to Queens for a BIG EAST battle against local rival St. John's. Tip-time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET. The contest will be televised nationally by FS1. The game will also be available on the radio at 89.5 FM WSOU or wsou.net.
