NEW YORK – Seton Hall sophomore Lauren Park-Lane (Wilmington, Del.) was named Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Park-Lane was instrumental in the Pirates' success in a pair of road contests last week, averaging 18.5 points and 10.0 assists per game. On Wednesday at Xavier, the point guard recorded her first career double-double, scoring 17 points and dishing out a career-high 15 assists. Her 15 dimes broke Seton Hall's single-game record that stood for 25 years. On Saturday at Villanova, Park-Lane reached 20 points for the fifth time this season to go with five more assists.Â

Park-Lane is the second Pirate to be named MBWA Player of the Week this season. Teammate Andra Espinoza-Hunter (Ossining, N.Y.) won it in back-to-back weeks, Jan. 19 and 26.
Â
Seton Hall will return to game action on Saturday, March 6 when it begins play at the 2021 BIG EAST Tournament. The Pirates will face either No. 6 Creighton or No. 11 Georgetown in the quarterfinals after receiving a first-round bye. Tip time is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. ET.Â
