Pirates Open up Season at BIG EAST Championships

Cary, N.C. -Â The Seton Hall men's cross country team will compete in its first action of the year when they take part in the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships Presented by Jeep on Friday, March 5. Men's race time is set for 11:50 a.m. The race will take place at the WakeMed Soccer Park Field in Cary, N.C.

The Pirates will look to Cole Kretlow (Oakland, Calif.) as one of the leading forces for the squad. Kretlow led the Pirates in three meets last season including a third place overall finish in the NYIT Invitational where the Pirates took home first place overall.

Sophomore Declan Harkness (Stewartsville, N.J.) led the Pirates at BIG EAST Championships last year with Kretlow and John Loeffel (Queens, N.Y.) rounding out the top three finishers for The Hall. Loeffel had an impressive showing in his first collegiate meet last season, taking fourth overall at the Salisbury Invitational.
This will be the first competitive action for the Pirates since last year's IC4A/ECAC Championship on Nov. 23, 2019, a meet the Pirates took second overall in.
