
Dana Named BIG EAST Player of the Week

The senior hit .462 with three doubles, a home run, six RBI and four runs scored
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Senior Casey Dana (Montgomery, N.Y.) has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week after hitting .462 (6-for-13) with a home run, three doubles, six RBI and four runs scored in the Seton Hall baseball team's series win over Butler this past weekend.
Dana registered two multi-hit games, two multi-RBI games, a .923 slugging percentage and 12 total bases as a the Pirates' designated hitter.
With the score tied at 4-4, Dana delivered a bases clearing, two-run double in the bottom of the seventh putting the Pirates ahead for good, 7-4, in Saturday's finale. The victory won the series for SHU.
In the first game on Friday, after Butler plated the game's first run in the top of the third, Dana responded with his first double of the series that plated a run and tied the game at 1-1. SHU won the game 3-2 in seven.
