Anna Holland Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Holland averaged 5.33 digs and 1.53 assists per set in a perfect 4-0 week for the Pirates.
NEW YORK – Seton Hall's Anna Holland (Waukesha, Wis.) was named to the BIG EAST Women's Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.

It's the second straight week that she's received an honor from the conference. Last week, Holland was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week.

Holland continued the amazing start to her collegiate career last week. The Pirate libero averaged a team-best 5.33 digs per set to go with 1.53 assists per set. On Tuesday, she turned in a career-best performance, recording her first career double-double with a career-high 31 digs to go with 11 assists and four service aces in a victory at Marist. On Friday, she had 13 digs and three assists vs. Iona. Holland had 17 digs and six assists in a victory over St. Francis in Saturday's first contest before totaling a match-high 19 digs at Columbia in the Big Apple Tournament finale that evening.

St. John's Rachele Rastelli was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, while the Creighton's Abby Bottomley earned Defensive Player of the Week. The Bluejays' Kendra Wait earned Freshman of the Week honors. Joining Holland on the Weekly Honor Roll are Butler's Melody Davidson, Connecticut's McKayla Wuensch, Providence's Maryanne Boyle and Villanova's Riley Homer.

Seton Hall will return to action this weekend for their final early-season non-conference tournament of the year, the UNF Invitational in Jacksonville, Fla. The Pirates will face Florida International on Friday at 1:30 p.m., before taking on Middle Tennessee at 4:30 p.m. The Hall will wrap up the tournament on Saturday when they play host North Florida at 5:00 p.m.
