Pirates Place Second at Emrby-Riddle

Daytona Beach, Fla. – For the first time in his Pirate career, Patrick Wagner (Jenkintown, PA.) paced the Seton Hall men's cross country team which took second at the 2021 Embry-Riddle Cross Country Classic on Saturday. The Hall was able to take second in the 8k race out of 15 competitors.
Wagner led a string of three consecutive Pirate finishers with an 11th-place finish, doing so in a time of 27:23.0. Following Wagner was Declan Harkness (Stewartsville, N.J.) in 12th with a time of 27:32.7 and Cole Kretlow (Oakland, Calif.) in 13th with a time of 27:44.3.
Rounding out the top-20 overall finishers for the Pirates was the duo of Brandin Affrunti (Staten Island, N.Y.) and JJustin Allone (Holtsville, N.Y.). Affrunti took 15th in a time of 27:58.8 while Allone placed 18th in a time of 28:11.8. Also competing for The Hall was Nicholas Minikel (Milltown, N.J.), Daniel Washburn (Syracuse, N.Y.), Andrew Walde (Edmonds, WA.) and Jacob Wozar (Newark, Del.).
The Pirates will return back home for a local meet at the Highlander XC Challenge hosted by NJIT. The race will take place on Saturday, Oct. 2, in Newark, N.J.
