
Pex Named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, Tibbling on Honor Roll

NEW YORK – Seton Hall's Johannes Pex (Stephansposching, Germany) was named the BIG EAST's Defensive Player of the Week the conference announced on Monday. CJ Tibbling (Jarna, Sweden) was also awarded a spot on the conference's honor roll.
Pex tallied twice for the Pirates while picking up an assist for five points over two Seton Hall wins. In the Pirates' 4-2 victory over Delaware last Monday, Pex converted a penalty kick in the first half to put The Hall up 2-0. The junior from Germany added a helper on the Pirates fourth and final goal of the night capping of a three-point game for the defender. At NC State on Friday, Pex delivered the opening salvo in the match with a rocketed strike from just outside the Wolfpack penalty area. The Hall would go on to complete a perfect 2-0 week defeating NC State, 3-1.
On the honor roll for the first time this season, Tibbling scored the game-winning goal against Delaware to break the 2-2 tie in the second half for his first tally of the season. In the road victory over NC State, the senior picked up the primary assist on the Pirates first goal of the night and first of the 2021 campaign.
The Pirates will return to action on Friday night when they host NJIT at Owen T. Carroll Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:56 p.m. with the match being streamed on FloSports.
