THE GAME
Seton Hall will return to action on Friday, January 21 when it travels to Storrs, Conn. for a contest against No. 9 Connecticut. Tip time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.Â

LAST GAMEÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
Lauren Park-Lane (Wilmington, Del.) and Andra Espinoza-Hunter (Ossining, N.Y.) combined for 56 points as the Pirates erased a 13-point deficit to defeat St. John's, 84-79, on Wednesday.

With the game tied, Park-Lane had a go-ahead three-point play with 40 seconds left, and then came up with a steal on the Red Storm's next possession to seal the Pirates' victory.

Park-Lane tallied a game-high 31 points to go with eight assists and three rebounds, becoming the first player in Seton Hall history to score at least 30 points in back-to-back games. She had 30 at Providence on Sunday. Espinoza-Hunter had a season-high 25 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Both Sidney Cooks (Kenosha, Wis.) and Mya Bembry (West Orange, N.J.) narrowly missed recording double-doubles. Cooks finished with 13 points, eight rebounds and two blocks, while Bembry tallied 10 points, eight rebounds and two assists.

EARLIER THIS YEAR AGAINST UCONN
Junior Lauren Park-Lane had a team-high 20 points, but the Pirates fell to No. 2 Connecticut, 74-49, in a sold-out Walsh Gymnasium on Dec. 3.

For the second straight game against the Huskies, the Pirates had a lead after the first quarter, but UConn outscored The Hall, 23-6, in the second quarter to pull away.

Park-Lane had 20 points to go with a team-best five assists and four rebounds. Junior Mya Jackson and Sidney Cooks also reached double-figures in scoring, notching 14 and 13 points respectively.

SCOUTING CONNECTICUT
Connecticut is again coming off another spectacular season. The Huskies went 28-2, including a perfect 18-0 in BIG EAST play during the pandemic-abbreviated 2020-21 season. UConn reached its 13th straight Final Four before falling to Arizona, 69-59, in the national semifinal.

This season, Connecticut is again the unanimous favorite to win the BIG EAST title. Sophomore Paige Bueckers was the unanimous selection for BIG EAST Preseason Player of the Year, as was UConn newcomer Azzi Fudd for Preseason Freshman of the Year. Christyn Williams and Olivia Nelson-Ododa were also named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team.

Connecticut enters Friday's game ranked ninth in the country with a 9-4 overall record and a perfect 4-0 mark in BIG EAST play. In addition to Seton Hall, the Huskies have defeated Creighton, Butler and Xavier in conference play. Most recently, they fell at Oregon, 72-59, on Monday. Caroline Ducharme had a team-best 22 points. Connecticut is still playing without star Paige Bueckers, who is out with a knee injury.
