
Cullum Paces Pirates at Metropolitan Championships

Bronx, N.Y. – Seton Hall women's cross country finished in fifth place at the Metropolitan Championships on Friday morning. The Pirates send six runners to Van Cortlandt Park as part of their split-squad weekend.
Freshman Hannah Cullum (San Antonio, Texas) was the top Pirate finisher, completing the 5k course in a time of 20:42.5 for a 14th place finish overall. Emma Newgarden (Staten Island, N.Y.) was not far behind, taking home 18th place with a time of 20:56.7. Amelia Carson (Charleston, S.C.) rounded out the top-20 finishers for the Pirates, taking 20th overall with a time of 21:07.0.
Also finishing for Seton Hall were Rica Ongsiako (Matawan, N.J.), Kate Cochran (Sewell, N.J.) and Amanda Houston (Randolph, N.J.), who took 22nd place, 26th place and 28th place, respectively.
The other half of the Pirates' split-squad features eight runners, all of whom will compete in tomorrow's Highlander Invitational hosted by NJIT. The women's race is slated to begin at 11 a.m. at Branch Brook Park in Newark.
