
Habib, Pirates Take First at NJIT

Newark, N.J. – The Seton Hall women's cross country team put on a strong showing at the NJIT Highlander XC Challenge on Saturday morning, taking the top spot out of 26 teams. Nancy Habib took home a first place overall finish for the fourth time this season.
Habib's winning time on the 5k course was 18:17.50, as she led a Pirates team that took each of the top four spots and had six of the top-10 times. Etta Moen finished in second place with a time of 18:26.15, with Caitlin Fahy coming in just behind her in third. Julia Smith took fourth place overall with a time of 18:33.82.
Rounding out the top-10 Pirate finishers were Madison Rempalski in eighth place and Arianna Braccio in 10th. Rempalski recorded a time of 18:46.88, while Braccio crossed the finish line in 19:00.00. Honey Strosnider and Abigail Hughes also completed the course for the Pirates, taking 12th place and 16th place, respectively.
Next up, the Pirates will compete in the IC4A/ECAC Championships on Friday at Van Cortlandt Park.
