The Pirate point guard erupted for a career-high 33 points in a victory over Villanova yesterday.
NEW YORK – For the seventh time this season, Seton Hall junior Lauren Park-Lane (Wilmington, Del.) was named to the BIG EAST Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.
Â
Park-Lane continued to cement her reputation as one of the top point guards in the nation in a pair of Seton Hall victories last week. The junior averaged 23.5 points, 4.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals per contest. On Wednesday at Georgetown, Park-Lane led the Pirates in a defensive battle with 14 points to go with five assists and four steals.Â
Â
On Sunday against Villanova, she took her game to another level. Park-Lane erupted for a career-high 33 points on 11-for-15 shooting from the floor, 4-for-6 from three-point range and a perfect 7-for-7 from the free-throw line. She also had four assists and six rebounds. Park-Lane scored 15 of the Pirates' 22 fourth-quarter points, willing The Hall to victory.Â
Â
Despite the loss to Seton Hall on Sunday, Villanova's Maddy Siegrist was named BIG EAST Player of the Week. DePaul's Aneesah Morrow earned Freshman of the Week honors. In addition to Park-Lane, members of the Weekly Honor Roll include Connecticut's Azzi Fudd, Creighton's Lauren Jensen, Georgetown's Kelsey Ransom and St. John's Leilani Correa.
Â
Seton Hall will return to action on Friday, February 18, when it hosts Providence. Tip time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET. The game will be streamed live by the BIG EAST Digital Network and available for FloSports subscribers.
