STATE COLLEGE, PA. - The Seton Hall men's golf team will return to action, April 16-17, for three rounds of golf at the 2022 Rutherford Intercollegiate, hosted by Penn State University.

In this 6,000 sq. ft. facility you'll find a complete Golf Shop filled with the latest in quality golf equipment and merchandise. Let our golf professionals share with you their expertise and answer any of your questions. Next to the Golf Shop is The Nineteenth Hole Cafe. This snack area offers a variety of food and snacks for a quick bite or a relaxing meal. The Cafe's open dining area overlooks the courses and provides the perfect compliments to a round of golf.

THE FIELD
In addition to Seton Hall and host Penn State, the field features 12 other teams including: Bowling Green, Dayton, Eastern Michigan, George Mason, Loyola (Md.), Maryland, Michigan State, Oakland, Richmond and Saint Mary's. Two additional BIG EAST competitors are also in the field, Connecticut and Georgetown.

THE SETON HALL LINEUP
Freshman Angus O'Brien (Barwon Heads, Australia) fired a 1-under-par, 70, in Sunday's final round to lift the Pirates to a third-place finish at the Princeton Invitational. O'Brien had a bogey on his second hole, but was par or better on every hole for the rest of the round. In all, he had two birdies and 15 pars in route to his 1-under-par, 70. For the tournament, he tied for eighth place among 78 individual golfers with an even-par, 75-68-70-213.Â

As a team, the Pirates shot a 2-over-par, 284, during Sunday's final round. For the tournament, The Hall was even-par with a 286-280-286-852. They finished seven strokes behind the team champion, Princeton, and six strokes behind the Tigers' "B" Team. One other BIG EAST school was also in the field. Georgetown finished in an eighth-place tie, 22 strokes behind The Hall.

One of the players that tied with O'Brien for eighth place overall is teammate Gregor Tait (Martlesham Heath, England). Tait had three birdies and 13 pars to fuel an even-par, 71, on Sunday. For the tournament, he was even-par with a 69-73-71-213.

LAST TIME AT PENN STATE
Last year, Andres Acevedo (San Antonio, Texas) and junior Deven Ramachandran (San Rafael, Calif.) each fired a 4-over-par, 75, in the final round to pace the Pirates to a 13th place finish. Acevedo birdied holes No. 15 and 17 to fuel his round. For the tournament, he tied for 43rd place with a 10-over-par, 75-73-75-223. Ramachandran had 12 pars in round three. He finished one stroke behind Acevedo for the tournament with an 11-over-par, 78-71-75-224.

As a team, Seton Hall shot a 21-over-par, 305, in the final round. For the two-day event, the Pirates were 48-over-par with a 300-295-305-900.Â

The top individual for the tournament was Gregor Tait, who shot a 6-over-par, 77, in round three. For the tournament, he tied for 39th place among 75 individual golfers with a 9-over-par, 72-73-77-222.Â

FORMAT
The teams will play five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.

PAIRINGS / TEE TIMES
The field will play two continuous rounds on Saturday with tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m. off the first and 10th tees. Seton Hall will be paired with players from Connecticut and Oakland on Saturday. Final round tee times will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday.
