The 6-foot-2 forward was a major contributor for Auburn and will play immediately in South Orange.
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Seton Hall women's basketball head coach Anthony Bozzella announced today the addition of Auburn transfer Jala Jordan (Philadelphia, Pa.) to the program.Â
Â
Jordan is a graduate transfer with two years of remaining eligibility and will begin playing for The Hall immediately.
Â
"I think Jala has an opportunity to be a really special player," Bozzella said. She has a chance to be a star. Her father played with former Pirate head coach Kevin Willard at Pittsburgh, and you can tell she comes from a family that knows the game well. She's really smart, long, can rebound and score the ball. We're counting on her to be an impact player and are really excited for her arrival."
Â
Jordan comes to South Orange after being a regular contributor for Auburn over the last two years and spending her freshman season at West Virginia University. The impact forward played in all 28 games for the Tigers last year, making seven starts, and averaged 6.4 points and 3.9 rebounds per contest. Offensively, she averaged 6.4 points per game last year, fourth-best on the team. Defensively, she has twice led the Tigers in blocks.
Â
As a freshman at West Virginia, Jordan saw action in 27 games and helped lead the Mountaineers to 22 wins and the third round of the WNIT.
Â
A highly-regarded recruit out of high school, Jordan was ranked 14th in the nation in her position by ESPN.
