The speedy guard will be eligible immediately and have two years left to play in South Orange.
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Seton Hall women's basketball head coach Anthony Bozzella announced today the addition of Penn State transfer Sha'Lynn Hagans (Manassas, Va.) to the program.Â
Â
Hagans will two years of remaining eligibility and begin playing for The Hall immediately.
Â
"Shay will provide a tremendous burst of energy on both sides of the ball," Bozzella said. She is an elite defender that will compete for minutes immediately in our backcourt at the one or the two.  Shay is incredibly fast and has a tremendous personality. We're really excited to coach her and think she has the opportunity to take her game to a much higher level."
Â
Hagans has been a vital part of Penn State's backcourt over the last three seasons. The 5-foot-6 guard has averaged nearly 25 minutes per game while making 47 starts for the Nittany Lions. A pesky defender, Hagans has collected at least 30 steals every year, including a career-high 50 last year. Offensively, she has already amassed more than 500 career points and averaged 6.5 points per game as a junior. She erupted for a season-high 17 points on 8-for-11 shooting against Illinois last year.
Â
A four-time Team MVP and All-Conference selection for Osbourn Park, Hagans is the high school's all-time leading scorer with over 1,400 career points.
