SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Seton Hall women's volleyball head coach Shannon Thompson announced today the hiring of Haley Coulter as the Pirates' new assistant coach.
Â
"I am thrilled to have Haley joining our staff," Thompson said. "Throughout the interview process, her high volleyball IQ was apparent, and how her past playing and student coach experience has helped shape who she is. She is gritty, determined and will help guide our players through practices, film review and scouting reports.  She is someone who the players can look up to for guidance and I am excited to start working with her."
Â
A young, "up-and-comer" in the volleyball coaching profession, Coulter brings experience coaching on the club, high school and college levels. A native of Bradenton, Fla., she served as a volleyball student assistant at her alma mater, Angelo State University. With the Rams, Coulter assisted at team practices and helped with individual skill work for their players. She assisted with stats and various other team operations while developing her leadership and organizational skills in helping with skill development and data analysis.
Â
On the club scene, Coulter has served as the head coach of Angelo Elite and West Texas Elite in San Angelo, Texas.Â
Â
Most recently, Coulter has been coaching on the high school level, serving as an assistant coach for Manatee High School in Bradenton. At Manatee, she's been coaching team practices and helping with individual skill work at every position.
Â
Coulter received both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Angelo State after a solid playing career. A 6-foot-1 outside hitter, she was an All-Academic honoree and a Lone Star Conference Honorable Mention in 2019.
