South Orange, N.J. -Â Seton Hall women's soccer head coach Ciara Crinion has resigned her position for personal reasons and to pursue other opportunities, Director of Athletics Bryan Felt announced Monday. Seton Hall will immediately commence a national search for Crinion's successor.
"I'd like to thank Ciara for her service to Seton Hall Athletics and the women's soccer program and for her dedication to our student-athletes over the last three years," Felt said. "We wish her all the best as she moves on to new endeavors."
Crinion guided The Hall for three seasons and helped the Pirates make vast improvements. The Pirates won six matches in 2021, the program's most since 2012. The team's win at Villanova was the program's first over the Wildcats since 2013 and its first BIG EAST road win since 2011. Seton Hall's six goal outburst in a win over Iona was the program's most goals scored in a match since 2008.
Crinion also promoted academic excellence within her program as the Pirates consistently ranked among the top teams in the department in grade point average. The team ended the Fall 2021 semester with a 3.595 cumulative GPA. Last year, over 90 percent of Crinion's student-athletes were selected to the BIG EAST All-Academic team.
"I am grateful that I had the opportunity to be the head coach here at Seton Hall, and I'd like to thank all of my student-athletes and my staff for their hard work and commitment to the program," Crinion said. "Leaving Seton Hall and this great group of young women was a difficult decision, but one that I needed to make. I wish nothing but the best to my Seton Hall family."
