2022 Women's Cross Country Schedule Announced

South Orange, N.J. -Â The Seton Hall women's cross country team has announced its schedule for the 2022 season. The Pirates, who picked up three wins and three top-three team finishes a season ago, will take part in nine scheduled meets this season.
The Pirates begin the season with the Salisbury Fall Classic on Sep. 3 before taking part in the Fordham Fiasco on Sep. 10. The team will then head south to Daytona Beach, Fla. to take part in the Embry-Riddle Cross Country Classic on Sep. 17. The Pirates won the event last year, led by Nancy Habib (Clifton, N.J.) who returns after pacing the Pirates in all nine meets in 2021. September will finish at the Maryland Eastern Shore Farm Run on Sep. 24.
The Pirates will begin October at the Metropolitan Championships at Van Cortlandt Park on Oct. 7, followed by the Highlander Invitational at NJIT on Oct. 8. The women took home first place at NJIT a year ago, as Habib, Julia Smith (Pittsgrove, N.J.) and Taj Lanier (Lincoln University, Pa.) all finished inside the top-10 overall.
One week later, the team will return to Van Cortlandt Park to compete in the IC4A/ECAC Championships on Oct. 14. This will be the final tune-up ahead of the 2022 BIG EAST Championships in Attleboro, Mass. on Oct. 29. Habib and Lanier, along with fellow-returner Abigail Hughes (Staten Island, N.Y.), were the Pirates' top three finishers in last year's event, respectively. The season will then conclude on Nov. 11 with the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals.
