
Habib, Pirates Shine in Win at UMES

Princess Anne, Md. – The Seton Hall women's cross country team dominated at the Maryland Eastern Shore Farm Run on Saturday afternoon, claiming the top spot amongst six competing teams. Nancy Habib (Clifton, N.J.) led the Pirates with a first place individual finish, one of eight Pirates to record a top-10 time.
Habib finished the 5k course in a time of 18:29.4, marking her best time of the season thus far. Caitlin Fahy (Ringwood, N.J.) notched her best finish of the season, crossing the line in third with a time of 19:04.2. Taj Lanier (Lincoln University, Pa.) and Julia Smith (Pittsgrove, N.J.) rounded out the top five, taking fourth and fifth place, respectively.
Etta Moen (Kenmore, Wash.) recorded her best first top-10 time of the year, finishing sixth in 19:09.6. Madison Rempalski (Grand Rapids, Mich.) took home and eighth place finish in a time of 19:27.4, while Arianna Braccio (Nashua, N.H.) came in behind her in ninth and Honey Strosnider (Fairfield, Pa.) took 10th.
Five other Pirates finished inside the top-20, including Abigail Hughes in 12th place and Hannah Cullum (San Antonio, Texas) in 13th. Emma Newgarden came across in 16th place, followed by Kate Cochran in 17th and Rica Ongsiako (Matawan, N.J.) in 18th position. Amelia Carson (Charleston, S.C.), Amanda Houston (Randolph, N.J.) and Brianna Peiffer (Missouri City, Texas) rounded out the Pirate finishers.
The Pirates have a week off before competing in the Metropolitan Championships at Van Cordtlandt Park on October 7.
