Park-Lane Advances to Top-10 of Nancy Lieberman Watch List

SPRINGFIELD, MASS. – Seton Hall women's basketball senior Lauren Park-Lane (Wilmington, Del.) was named one of the final Top 10 candidates for the prestigious Nancy Lieberman Award, named by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.

Park-Lane was named to the initial Watch List of 20 nationwide candidates in October, but has now reached the impressive Top-10 listing for the first time.

Now in its 24th year, the award recognizes the top point guard in women's NCAA Division I college basketball. To be considered for this award, candidates must exhibit the floor leadership, playmaking and ball-handling skills of Class of 1996 Hall-of-Famer Nancy Lieberman.

Park-Lane is in the midst of another spectacular season averaging 19.3 points and 6.0 assists per game. A Unanimous selection to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team, she has already been named BIG EAST Player of the Week once and to the Weekly Honor Roll four times this year. A member of the 2022 Paradise Jam All-Tournament Team, she was selected to the John R. Wood Award National Player of the Year Watch List. This season, Park-Lane has already surpassed the 1,600-point mark for her career and became Seton Hall's all-time leader in assists. On Nov. 25 against Wisconsin, she erupted for a career-high 37 points, just one shy of The Hall's single-game record.

In March, five finalists will be presented to Lieberman and the Hall of Fame's selection committee. The Selection Committee for the Nancy Lieberman Award is composed of top women's college basketball personnel including media members, head coaches, sports information directors and Hall of Famers.

Previous winners of the Nancy Lieberman Award include Caitlin Clark, Iowa (2022), Paige Bueckers, UConn (2021), Sabrina Ionescu, Oregon (2018-20), Skylar Diggins, Notre Dame (2012-13), Diana Taurasi, Connecticut (2003-04) and Sue Bird, Connecticut (2000-02).
