
Smith Leads Way for Pirates at ECAC Championships

Bronx, N.Y. – The Seton Hall women's cross country team took part in the ECAC Championships on Friday morning at Van Cortlandt Park. Julia Smith (Pittsgrove, N.J.) was the first Pirate to cross the finish line on the 6k course.
Smith came in at a time of 22:41.0 to lead the pack for the Pirates, followed by Paige Quigley (Sacramento, Calif.) and her time of 22:57.7. Honey Strosnider (Fairfield, Pa.) was the third runner for Seton Hall to complete the course, doing so in a time of 23:17.5.
Hannah Cullum (San Antonio, Texas) was the fourth Pirate to cross the finish line, clocking a time of 24:41.8. Rounding out the top five was Taj Lanier (Lincoln University, Pa.), finishing with a time of 24:52.3. Other Pirate finishers on the morning were Amelia Carson (Charleston, S.C.), Kayla Carrino (Lyndhurst, N.J.), Brianna Peiffer (Missouri City, Texas), Kate Cochran (Sewell, N.J.), Carling Lockwood (Bemus Point, N.Y.) and Arianna Cucarese (Levittown, Pa.).
The Pirates now begin preparations for the BIG EAST Championships, which will be held Oct. 28 in Kenosha, Wis.
