LAST GAME
Azana Baines (Blackwood, N.J.) scored a career-high 29 points, and Sidney Cooks (Kenosha, Wis.) added 19 more, but the Pirates fell at DePaul, 94-89, on Wednesday.
Â
In a game of runs, DePaul had the latest one, an 11-2 spurt that turned a five-point deficit into a four-point lead with just 1:33 left in the contest. The Blue Demons were able to ice the game late on the free-throw line as they were 17-for-18 from the stripe for the game.
Â
Baines had 29 points on an efficient 12-for-16 from the floor to go with six rebounds and three assists.
Â
Cooks had 19 points on 8-for-13 shooting to go with six rebounds. She also became only the 25th player in program history to reach 1,000 points in a Seton Hall uniform. Senior Lauren Park-Lane (Wilmington, Del.) tallied a double-double with 16 points and a game-high 11 assists.

2022-23 Meetings:
Seton Hall 74, Xavier 55 (F) – December 2, 2022 (Cintas Center)
Â
EARLIER THIS YEAR AGAINST XAVIER
Park-Lane had a game-high 24 points and Cooks notched a double-double as the Pirates downed Xavier, 74-55, in its first BIG EAST contest of the 2022-23 season on Dec. 2.
Â
In all, five Pirates scored at least eight points in a balanced offensive affair. Park-Lane finished with 24 points on 8-for-19 shooting with six assists. Cooks tallied 15 points and a team-best 10 rebounds along with four assists and four steals.
Â
Kae Satterfield (New York, N.Y.), making her return to Cincinnati since transferring from Xavier in the offseason, had 13 points on 5-for-7 shooting to go with seven rebounds. Sha'Lynn Hagans (Manassas, Va.) had nine points and three steals, while Mya Bembry (West Orange, N.J.) had eight points and five rebounds.
Â
SCOUTING XAVIER
This year, the Musketeers have a new look as their top two-scorers transferred to teams in the BIG EAST with Nia Clark heading to Marquette and the Pirates acquiring Kae Satterfield. Xavier was picked to finish last in the 11-team league according to the preseason coaches' poll.Â
Â
After starting the season with wins in their first five games, the Musketeers have had their share of difficulties. Xavier is still seeking its first win in BIG EAST play and enters Saturday's contest having lost their last 15 games. Xavier's last three losses, albeit against tough competition, have come by an average of more than 28 points. Mackayla Scarlett leads the Musketeers with 11.4 points per contest.
Â
