NEW YORK – ABBY WINGO was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the conference announced on Monday afternoon. This marks the second straight week in which Wingo has landed on the honor roll, and it is her fourth BIG EAST weekly honor of the season.

Wingo batted a team-best .444 with three RBI over the weekend for the Pirates. In the process, Wingo broke the program record for longest hitting streak on Friday by recording a base hit in her 17^th consecutive game. She would extend the streak up to 19 straight by the end of the weekend with hits in each of the final two games of the series against Villanova. In the series finale victory over the Wildcats on Sunday, Wingo went 2-for-3 with three RBI, including a two-run single in the four-run fourth that helped the Pirates pull away.

The Pirates close out the regular season at home this weekend against Butler with a chance to capture a share of the BIG EAST regular season crown. The series kicks off on Friday at 2 p.m.
