
Satterfield Wins Bronze Medal with Puerto Rico

The graduate student earned the bronze medal while playing for the P.R. national team at the Central American & Caribbean Games.
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Seton Hall women's basketball graduate student Kae Satterfield (New York, N.Y.) earned a bronze medal on June 28 while playing for the Puerto Rico National Team at the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador, El Salvador.

Puerto Rico went a perfect 3-0 in group play with victories over El Salvador, Costa Rica and Cuba, but was tripped up by the U.S. Virgin Islands, 61-60, in the semifinals. They bounced back to defeat Cuba in the bronze medal game, 73-67.

Satterfield averaged 5.8 points and 5.0 rebounds while playing in all five contests. Her top outing was an eight-point, seven-rebound effort against Cuba on Monday.

Similar to the Olympics, the Central American and Caribbean Games occur every four years in different cities of countries within the region comprising Central America and the Caribbean Sea basin. Â It is the oldest regional multidisciplinary event in the world. Â The Central American and Caribbean Games are organized by Centro Caribe Sports.Â

Satterfield was also selected to play for Puerto Rico in the upcoming Women's AmeriCup in Leon, Mexico, July 1-9.
