THE GAME
Seton Hall will close out the 2023-24 regular season on Sunday, March 3 when it hosts BIG EAST rival Creighton on Senior Day. Tip time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. ET.Â

SENIOR DAY
Prior to the game on Sunday, Seton Hall will honor its nine seniors and graduate students in a Senior Day ceremony. The Pirates will celebrate Azana Baines, A'Jah Davis, Sha'Lynn Hagans, Brazil Harvey-Carr, I'yanna Lops, Shannon Mulroy, Kae Satterfield, Makennah White and Amari Wright.

LAST GAME
Azana Baines (Blackwood, N.J.) scored 12 of her game-high 22 points in the fourth quarter as the Seton Hall women's basketball team outlasted Providence, 71-65, in its final road game of the regular season on Wednesday.

The Hall trailed 65-62 with 3:03 remaining in the game, but finished the game with a 9-0 run. A three-pointer by Sha'Lynn Hagans (Manassas, Va.) with 1:27 left to play broke a 65-65 tie and the Pirates never trailed again.

Providence stayed in the game thanks largely to its three-point shooting. The Friars entered the contest averaging a BIG EAST-low 4.3 made three-pointers per game, but erupted for nine tonight against the Pirates.

In all, five Pirates scored at least nine points, led by Baines. Hagans finished with 13, while Kae Satterfield (New York, N.Y.) added 12 points and a team-best eight rebounds. Amari Wright (Jacksonville, Fla.), returning from injury, had nine points, as did Brazil Harvey-Carr (Camden, N.J.).

Seton Hall and Creighton will meet for the 25th time in history on Sunday with the Bluejays owning an 18-6 all-time series lead. Creighton won all three meetings last season and ran its win streak to four in a row earlier this year with a 57-49 victory at Walsh Gym on Jan. 28. Seton Hall's last victory over Creighton in Walsh Gym came on Jan. 17, 2020, an 82-70 victory.

Graduate student Azana Baines (Blackwood, N.J.) had a game-high 19 points to go with nine rebounds, but the Seton Hall women's basketball team couldn't find its offensive footing late and fell to No. 21 Creighton, 57-49, on Sunday.

The Pirates trailed by as many as 12 points in the third quarter, but battled back thanks to a 10-0 run. Both defenses clamped down in the fourth quarter with each team making only one field goal over the final 10 minutes. Creighton, however, went 8-for-12 from the free-throw line to hold off Seton Hall.

Baines had 19 points on 7-for-14 shooting and nine rebounds. I'yanna Lops (Stamford, Conn.) had six points, a team-high 10 rebounds and two blocks.

SCOUTING CREIGHTON
Providence was picked to finish second in the 11-team BIG EAST this season according to the preseason coaches' poll. Lauren Jensen, Morgan Maly and Emma Ronsiek were all named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team.

The Bluejays enter Sunday's contest as the No. 23-ranked team in the country with a 23-4 overall record and a 14-3 mark in BIG EAST play. They have already clinched the No. 2 seed in the upcoming BIG EAST Tournament and will play the winner of the No. 7 vs. No. 10 first-round game on Saturday. Creighton has won 13 of its last 14 games, with their lone loss coming at UConn on Feb. 19. Most recently, the Bluejays routed Xavier, 99-57, on Tuesday.Â
