
Aguilar Pacing Pirates at Delaware Invitational

REHOBOTH BEACH, DEL. – Sophomore Marta Aguilar (Casares Malaga, Spain) is 3-over-par after two rounds and has guided the Seton Hall women's golf team to an 11th place standing at the Delaware Lady Blue Hen Invitational on Saturday.

Aguilar had a birdie and 16 pars in the morning to fuel a 1-over-par, 73. In round two, she was only one stroke worse, finishing with a 2-over-par, 74. For the tournament, Aguilar is tied for ninth among 69 individual golfers with a 3-over-par, 73-74-147. Harvard's Vanessa Zhang is the current leader at 5-under-par.

As a team, the Pirates shot a 30-over-par, 318, in round one. In the afternoon, however, they shaved 10 strokes off to finish with a 20-over-par, 308. With 18 holes remaining, The Hall is in 11th place at 50-over-par with a 308-318-626. Harvard is the current team leader at 8-over-par. BIG EAST competitors, Georgetown and St. John's, are 10-over-par and 24-over-par respectively.

Junior Renee Rane (New Delhi, India) had two birdies on the day and shot a pair of 6-over-par, 78's. She's currently tied for 54th with a 12-over-par, 78-78-156.

Senior Anne-Sofie Ekman (Copenhagen, Denmark) shot a 9-over-par, 81, in round one. In the afternoon, she shaved off two strokes to finish with a 7-over-par, 79. For the tournament, she's 16-over-par with a 81-79-160.

Freshman Isabella Stewart (Wicklow, Ireland) improved nine strokes in today's second round. She opened the day with a 14-over-par, 86, but bounced back with a solid 5-over-par, 77, in round two. For the event, she's 19-over-par with an 86-77-163.

Rounding out the Pirates' lineup on Saturday was junior Kasumi Tran (Swansea, Wales), who is currently 30-over-par with a 94-80-174.

Teams will play five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.

The field will play two continuous rounds on Saturday, and one, final round on Sunday. There will be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday and a 9:00 a.m. shotgun for Sunday's final round. Seton Hall will be paired with golfers from St. John's and Pennsylvania on Saturday.
