SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Coming off a 0-0 home draw against No. 14 Georgetown last week, the Seton Hall men's soccer team entered the United Soccer Coaches Poll at No. 21 in the rankings released on Tuesday afternoon. The Pirates have now been nationally ranked at least once in five of the last six seasons; the team was last ranked on Oct. 8, 2023, at No. 11.
The Pirates are one of two BIG EAST teams in the current top-25, joining No. 14 Georgetown. Two other opponents The Hall has faced this year, Princeton and Rutgers, are ranked at No. 9 and No. 18, respectively.
Seton Hall's draw against No. 14 Georgetown showcased The Hall's strong defensive core. On the field, Agustin Resch (Arata, Argentina) held off one of the most explosive offenses in the country. At the same time, goalkeeper Matias Molina (Rosario, Argentina) tied his career-high mark of six saves on 12 shots faced.
In head coach Andreas Lindberg's tenure, Seton Hall appeared in the United Soccer Coaches top-25 at least once in five of his eight seasons and 20 weeks overall. The Pirates were ranked seven times last season, peaking at No. 8, the highest they had been since reaching No. 6 in their seven-week run during the truncated 2020 season.
No. 25 Seton Hall will face FIU tonight at Owen T. Carroll Field at 6:56 p.m. The game is free to attend and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
