Catalon Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK – Seton Hall's Savannah Catalon (Mansfield, Texas) was named to the BIG EAST Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.

It's the third time this year that she has been recognized this way by the conference.Â

Catalon led Seton Hall with 14.0 points per game in a pair of Seton Hall games last week, but most notably had a huge impact defensively. At Creighton on Wednesday, she tied for the team lead with 11 points to go with three rebounds and three steals. On Saturday against Xavier, Catalon had a game-high 17 points and set a program record with 11 steals. It's the first double-double of her career. Furthermore, Catalon's 11 steals against Xavier tied the BIG EAST single-game record.

Creighton's Morgan Maly was named BIG EAST Player of the Week, while Villanova's Jasmine Bascoe earned Freshman of the Week honors. Those joining Catalon on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll include: Butler's Kilyn McGuff, DePaul's Jorie Allen, Georgetown's Kelsey Ransom and Providence's Marta Morales Romero.

Seton Hall will return to action when it returns to historic Walsh Gymnasium to host BIG EAST rival Marquette on Wednesday, Feb. 12. Tip time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET. The game will be streamed live by the Pirate Sports Network and available for FloCollege subscribers.
