MOBILE, ALA. - The Seton Hall men's golf team will play three rounds of golf at the 2025 Hal Williams Collegiate at the Magnolia Grove Golf Course, Feb. 10-11.

THE COURSE:
The new Magnolia Grove features two renovated golf courses. Each championship course received extensive upgrades in recent years. Golfers will find more "player friendly" qualities without compromising the integrity of Robert Trent Jones' original design.

Magnolia Grove was recently named one of the "Top 50 Public Courses" by Golf World Magazine readers. The Crossings and Falls courses are also listed in Golf Digest's "Places to Play" as two of the nation's Great Value courses and as "America's Top 50 Affordable Courses."Â The topography at Magnolia Grove features creeks, marshland, and lakes with each of the 54 holes carved through indigenous hardwood and pine.

THE FIELD:
In addition to Seton Hall and host South Alabama, the highly-competitive field includes 10 other teams including:Â Davidson, Kansas State, Kent State, Louisiana Tech, Memphis, Oral Roberts, SMU, South Alabama, Southern Illinois, Southern Mississippi, Texas State and UAB.

THE FORMAT:
Teams will play five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.

THE LINEUP:
Senior George Fricker (Woodbridge, England) shot a 3-over-par, 75, to lead the Seton Hall men's golf team as it completed play at the Vaqueros Intercollegiate in Mexico on Tuesday.

Fricker moved up five spots on the final day to finish tied for 42nd place with a 14-over-par, 83-72-75-230. The top Seton Hall golfer for the tournament was Patrick Kahanek (San Antonio, Texas), who used two birdies to fuel a 5-over-par, 77, in round three. For the tournament, he tied for 26th place among 90 golfers with a 9-over-par, 76-72-77-225.

As a team, The Hall shot a 22-over-par, 310, in round three. For the tournament, the Pirates finished in 12th place with a 49-over-par, 304-299-310-913.Â

LAST TIME AT MAGNOLIA GROVE:
George Fricker (Woodbridge, England) and Wenliang Xie each shot a 2-over-par, 73, in the final round to lead the Seton Hall men's golf team to a 13th place finish at the 2024 Hal Williams Collegiate at Magnolia Grove.

Xie had a birdie and 14 pars in round three to fuel his round. The graduate student was the top Seton Hall performer for the tournament, tying for 36th place among 80 individual golfers with a 2-over-par, 68-74-73-215. His 3-under-par, 68, in round one is his 36th sub-par round in his career, which ranks second-most in program history.

As a team, The Hall placed 13th in a highly-talented field with a 21-over-par, 293-283-296-872. Illinois won the team title at 25-under-par.

THE SCHEDULE:
The field will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. A shotgun start will begin competition in round one at 9:00 a.m. Seton Hall golfers will be paired with golfers from Southern Mississippi and Texas State in the first two rounds.
