
Valenzuela Named To Mexican National Team Roster

SANTIAGO, CHILE – Seton Hall women's basketball newcomer Mariana Valenzuela (Mazatlan, Mexico) has been named to the official roster for the Mexican National Team for the upcoming FIBA Women's Americup 2025 to be played in Chile.

Valenzuela and Mexico will begin the group phase portion of the tournament on Sunday, June 29 when they face Chile in Santiago at 5:40 p.m. ET. Mexico plays in Group B and is joined by Chile, Columbia, Puerto Rico and USA.

Valenzuela joined the Pirates after spending her first three collegiate years as a member of the Florida State University basketball program. The 2025-26 season will be her final year of eligibility.

The 6-foot-2 forward has appeared in 80 games for the Seminoles over the last three seasons, averaging 4.1 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. Comfortable manning the paint, she's also proven quite adept behind the three-point arc having connected for 66 career three-pointers and a .440 percentage. Valenzuela has helped lead Florida State to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances and never averaged fewer than 10.0 minutes per game in her career.Â
