Bethlehem, Pa. – Adria Kitzinger scored for the second time this season as the Seton Hall women's soccer team wrapped up non-conference action with a 1-1 draw at Lehigh on Sunday afternoon.
How it Happened
The Seton Hall attack came out strong, tallying three total shots through the first 16 minutes of action. The Pirates would eventually break the ice to take the lead in the 21st minute, as a pass down the near side of the pitch led Nina Davis into open space to cross the ball into the box. Kitzinger ran through a crowd of Lehigh defenders to deflect the ball past the goalkeeper to give the visitors the 1-0 lead.
Seton Hall's defense would hold strong heading into halftime to maintain its lead. However, early in the second half, the Mountain Hawks would level the score up at 1-1 on a Tori Okorodudu goal. The strike woke up the Lehigh attack, as the home side generated another dangerous opportunity in the 64th minute. Lehigh's Faith Dobosiewicz laced a shot that looked labeled for the near post, but Seton Hall freshman goalkeeper Kate Kleinsmith dove full extension to her left to make the stop.
Lehigh would muster two more shots down the stretch, neither of which threatened Kleinsmith between the pipes. Seton Hall's final chance came on a Kailey McCormick shot in the 80th minute which was handled by the Mountain Hawk keeper.
