
Catalon Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK – Seton Hall's Savannah Catalon (Mansfield, Texas) was named to the BIG EAST Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.

It's the fifth time this season that Catalon has received the weekly conference recognition.

Catalon continued her tremendous junior year in a pair of BIG EAST contests last week. In Seton Hall's victory at Georgetown on Thursday, she had 17 points, five rebounds and three steals. She was also 9-for-10 from the free-throw line. Against Creighton on Sunday, Catalon had 15 points and three more steals. For the week, she averaged a team-best 16.0 points per game and was 11-for-12 from the free-throw line.

Connecticut's Allie Ziebell was named BIG EAST Player of the Week. Creighton's Neleigh Gessert earned BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors. Those joining Catalon on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll include: Connecticut's Sarah Strong, Marquette's Halle Vice, St. John's Daniela Abies and Villanova's Jasmine Bascoe.

Seton Hall will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 7 when it makes the short trip to Queens, N.Y. for a game against BIG EAST rival St. John's. Tip time is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. ET. The game will be streamed live by ESPN+.
