Pirates Host Marquette On Tuesday Night

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. -- Looking to snap a three-game skid, the Seton Hall women's basketball team (8-7, 1-3 BIG EAST) is back at Walsh Gym on Tuesday night to host Marquette (12-4, 3-2 BIG EAST) for BIG EAST action. The contest is set to tip at 7 p.m. on the BIG EAST Digital Network via the FOX Sports GO app with Jon Schaeffer, Dave Popkin and John Fanta on the call.Â
The Pirates are closing a brief two-game home-stand after falling to No. 21 DePaul on Sunday afternoon. Marquette is also coming off a setback after a road loss at St. John's on Sunday. The contest will serve as a rematch of the BIG EAST Quarterfinals in each of the last two conference tournaments, with both postseason meetings going to The Hall.Â

MARQUETTE SERIES NOTES
- The Pirates have faced Marquette 16 times since the 2005-06 season, including postseason meetings in each of the last two years
- Last season the squads split the regular season series with each winning at home
- The third meeting came in the BIG EAST Quarterfinals, with the third-seeded Pirates knocking off the six-seed Golden Eagles by a score of 93-86
- Tiffany Jones turned in one of the top performances in BIG EAST Tournament history with 29 points and 18 rebounds in the win
- Over the course of the three contests against MU, the Pirates averaged 91.3 points per game and shot 49.1 percent from the floor
- The Hall is 5-2 against Marquette at Walsh Gym, including a 99-68 victory in South Orange last season
