Seton Hall Places Fifth at Metropolitan Championship

Bronx, N.Y. – The Seton Hall men's cross country team finished fifth out of 11 teams at the five-mile Metropolitan Championship on Friday afternoon at Van Cortlandt Park in New York.
Senior Jake Simon (Freehold, N.J.) was one of six Pirates to finish in the Top-50 as he crossed the finish line in 21st with a time of 27:05.4. Senior Bryant Cordova (Elizabeth, N.J.) placed 26th with an impressive 27:16.1.
Freshman Brandon Guerrera (Farmingville, N.Y.), sophomore Jesse Southard (Gorham, Maine) and junior Ricky Stephens (Stony Point, N.Y.) finished 31st, 34th and 38th with respective times of 27:31.2, 27:32.6 and 27:43.6.
Looking ahead, the Pirates will have a week off before competing in the BIG EAST Championship on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 11 a.m. in Kenosha, Wis.
