
Pirates Enter BIG EAST Championship With Confidence

South Orange, N.J. – The Seton Hall women's cross country team has won four of its six meets this season, and is full of confidence heading into Saturday morning's BIG EAST Championship at the 6K Wayne Dennehl National Course at 11:50 a.m. in Kenosha, Wis.
Junior captain Christiana Rutkowski (Middletown, N.J.) has had an incredible season to this point, having won four different individual meets and finishing second in another, in addition to a fifth-place result at the Metro Championship on Oct. 13. She is an invaluable component to the team and its success thus far.
Senior captain Emily Johnson (Wildwood Crest, N.J.) has four Top-10 finishes in 2017 and was runner-up at the Delaware Blue & Gold Invitational with a 6K time of 23:25.78. Right behind her in third was freshman Olivia Hernandez (East Brunswick, N.J.), who has delivered impressive times all throughout her debut campaign.
Junior Kiley Britten (Crystal Lake, Ill.) has been a significant contributor all season, and with four Top-10 finishes under her belt, is looking forward to the challenge on Saturday.
Freshmen Emily Hernandez (East Brunswick, N.J.) and Brittany Dycha (Hamburg, N.Y.), as well as sophomore Kassi Yocco (Bethlehem, Pa.) have also scored significant team points this season.
Following Saturday's meet, the Pirates compete at the NCAA Regionals in Bethlehem, Pa. on Friday, Nov. 10, and wrap up the season at the IC4A ECAC Championship on Nov. 18 in Van Cortlandt Park, N.Y.
