
Pirates Head to Rutgers for Quad Meet

South Orange, N.J. - Â The Seton Hall swimming and diving programs will head to Piscataway, N.J. to compete in the Rutgers Quad Meet this Friday and Saturday. On the men's side the Pirates will compete against Georgetown, Pittsburgh, and Villanova. On the women's side the Pirates will go up against the same teams with the addition of Rutgers.

The Pirates are coming off of a strong performance at the Big 12 vs. BIG EAST Weekend in Morgantown, W.Va. The men's program split, winning vs. Xavier and falling to West Virginia. The women's program lost to both Xavier and West Virginia in hard fought contests. The men are heading into this weekend with an overall record of 4-2, while the women are 3-3.

The Pirates have gotten some outstanding performances from returning athletes this year. Senior Noah Yanchulis (Arnold, Md.) has led the way for the men's program. He was named the BIG EAST Conference Men's Athlete of the Week this week for his performance last weekend. Yanchulis finished second in the 200 Free with a time of 1:40.97, and came in fourth place in the 100 Free with a time of 46.96. His times helped propel the Pirates to a victory over BIG EAST opponent, Xavier.

On the women's side, Sara Ouellette (Granby, Conn.) picked up BIG EAST Women's Athlete of the Week honors for her performances in Morgantown. She finished the 200 back with a time of 2:03.32, which was good enough for second place. That time was the second fastest time among BIG EAST competitors so far, this season. Oullette also added a fourth-place finish in the 200 free with a time of 1:57.28.

Looking at the competition for the Pirates ahead of this weekend's quad meet. The men's program will face Georgetown (2-1), Villanova (0-2), and Pittsburgh (2-2) and the women will face Georgetown (2-1), Villanova (2-0), and Pittsburgh (4-2).
