SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Seton Hall men's soccer team (0-1-1) dropped a 2-1 decision to Rider (1-1-0) on Monday night at Owen T. Carroll Field. Spencer Burkhardt (Palmyra, Pa.) scored for the Pirates in the setback, his first goal of the season and the fourth of his career.

Burkhardt's tally came in the 11^th minute, connecting with a header off a picture-perfect cross from Noah Teperow (Lowell, Mass.). The goal was part of a dominant first half for The Hall as they did not allow a shot on goal in the opening 45 and took a 1-0 lead to the break.

Turning Point
The second half proved to be a different story, with the Broncs striking twice in a seven-minute span near the one-hour mark to equalize and pull ahead. Arthur Herpreck tied the contest with a broken play goal in the 56^th minute before Pablo DeCastro netted the eventual game-winner in the 63^rd minute.
