
Pirates Drop Tight BIG EAST Opener At St. John's

QUEENS, N.Y. – The Seton Hall men's soccer team (2-2-1, 0-1-0 BIG EAST)) was felled by an early first half goal and fell by a score of 1-0 to rival St. John's (4-3-0, 1-0-0 BIG EAST) on Saturday night at Belson Stadium. The contest was the BIG EAST opener for both sides.
The Red Storm got on the board in the 10th minute with the first official shot of the game and was able to hold on to that 1-0 advantage the rest of the way. Andreas Nota (Rome, Italy) was brilliant in net for the Pirates, making six saves and withstanding the final 12 attempts of the night for the Red Storm without conceding. The Hall pressed forward and dominated possession in the second half but could not find the equalizer it needed.
