
Hall Drops Invitational Finale to Towson

BALTIMORE, MD. – The Seton Hall women's volleyball team dropped the finale of the Morgan State Invitational to Towson, 3-0 (15-25, 24-26, 22-25) on Saturday.
The Pirates (0-3) got a team-high eight kills from senior Hayley Gasser (Mission Viejo, Calif.) and a career-high 14 assists from freshman Grace Rosenberg (Lido Beach, N.Y.).
SET 1:
Towson dominated the first set from the start. Leading 9-7, the Tigers went on a 7-2 burst to take a commanding 16-9 advantage. A kill by Amanda Rachwal (Bethleham, Pa.) cut the Tiger lead to 16-11, but Towson went on a 6-2 run to take their largest lead, 22-13. They went on to claim set one, 25-15.
SET 2:
Towson scored the first five points of the second set, but the Pirates bounced back to make it the closest set of the match. Trailing 18-17, a kill by Rachwal tied the set for Seton Hall at 18, and a service ace by Reece Koehler (Stillwater, Minn.) gave it the lead. Blocks by Emilee Turner (Kaysville, Utah) and Madison Salkowski (Cold Spring, Ky.) put The Hall in set point, 24-23, but Towson rallied to score the final three points of the set, and won, 26-24.
SET 3:
Seton Hall never led in the third set as Towson ran out to an early 13-7 lead, which prompted a Pirates' timeout. A kill by Turner cut The Hall's deficit to just one point, 19-18, but the Tigers regrouped and scored four of the next five points to take a commanding 23-19 advantage. Towson went on to win set three, 25-22.

Seton Hall will return to action next weekend for its 2019 Walsh Gymnasium debut. The Pirates will host the Seton Hall Classic and will play four matches over two days. On Friday, The Hall will face Northern Arizona at 11:00 a.m. followed by La Salle at 7:00 p.m.
