South Orange, N.J. - Sophomore CJ Tibbling (Jarna, Sweden) scored early, and graduate student Stephen Elias (Rye, N.Y.) put in the game-winner late as the Seton Hall men's soccer team picked up their first conference win of the season, a 2-1 victory over DePaul Friday night at Owen T. Carroll Field.
Tibbling scored his first goal for the Pirates this season on a penalty kick in the 25th minute of the first half following a drawn foul in the box from Carlton McKenzie (Birmingham, England). DePaul tied the game up late in the first half with the equalizer coming in the 44th minute off the foot of Zach El-Shafei.
Turning Point
With the game heading towards the end of regulation in a 1-1 draw, graduate student Torbjorn Alseth (Trondheim, Norway) sent a ball into the box just over the outstretched arm of the DePaul goalkeeper. Elias was there to control the ball and put it into the net for the game-winner, his fourth goal of the season.
