South Orange, N.J. - In a defensive and possessive matchup that saw only three total shots on goal between the two sides, the Seton Hall men's soccer team couldn't come out on top as Xaiver defeated the Pirates, 1-0, on Saturday evening at Owen T. Carroll Field.

How It Happened
The first 45 minutes didn't have a shot on target for either team but the pace picked up slightly in the second half. In the 71st minute, Xavier picked up their tally and were able to hang on despite a solid chance late for the Pirates.

In the 88th minute, senior Maurice Williams sent a ball deep from his position on the back line where it found senior Luca Dahn and sophomore Mattias Almeida Sundell in the box. Dahn flicked the ball backwards and Sundell was the one to put a decent strike on the ball but the chance was saved.
