Harrigan's third goal of the season was not enough for the Pirates

VILLANOVA, PA. – Senior Cassy Harrigan (Beaverton, Ore.) found the back of the net for the third time this season but the Seton Hall women's soccer team ultimately fell to Villanova in the second overtime period, 2-1.

Harrigan was assisted on the goal by senior Laura Hooper (Watford, England), her first of the season. Hooper led the Pirates in shots with three, including two on goal.

Plagued by the weather, both teams struggled to score through the first 45 minutes. 12 minutes into the second half, The Hall earned a corner kick opportunity that was taken by Hooper. The ball twisted into the area and found Harrigan who headed it into the goal to give the Pirates a 1-0 lead.

The Wildcats equalized eight minutes later and despite two late shots on goal by both Harrigan and senior Dani Camilleri (Mississauga, Ontario), the game would be decided in overtime where Villanova came out on top with a goal in the second extra period. Sophomore Julia Aronov (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) also registered a shot on goal for the Pirates.

The Pirates return to Owen T. Carroll Field on Sunday, March 21, where they will take on Georgetown at 1 p.m.
