How it Happened
In the 23rd minute, JP Marin (Briarwood, N.Y.) sent in a cross to the far side of the box where Borg was able to control the ball before making a move past the Blue Hen defender to free himself in front of the net. Borg then kicked a low drive past the keeper to give the Pirates their first goal on the young season and an early 1-0 lead.

With time ticking down in the first half and the Pirates clinging to a 1-0 advantage, Jordan Jowers (Middlesbrough, England) drew a penalty in the box to gift the Pirates a penalty kick. It was then that Pex stepped up and converted the PK to double the Pirate lead just before the end of the first period.

As play started back up in the second half, Delaware got on to the scoreboard with a long goal off the foot of Orri Thorhallssonn with an assist to Hyunjun to cut the Pirate lead in half at the 51st minute.
A few minutes later, Delaware was able to draw a penalty kick of their own looking to even up the score. Pirate keeper Andreas Nota (Rome, Italy) stepped up in a big way, diving to his left to make the stop and cover up the subsequent rebound to keep the Pirates up, 2-1.

However, in the 65th minute, Rex Twum got lose in the Pirate box ripping a point blank shot off the crossbar before Jordan Miller was there for the rebound and finish to tie things at two midway through the second half.
Turning Point
Just one minute and 24 second after Delaware found the equalizer, the Pirates turned to their man at the front for an answer. The play started when Jowers was able to get a ball on net that was turned away by the Blue Hen keeper for the moment, but BIG EAST Preseason Co-Offensive Play of the Year, CJ Tibbling was there to clean up the scrum.

The Pirates would add an insurance goal to their lead in the 82nd minute after some fancy footwork and passing. Raz Amir (Israel) flicked on Pex down the near side with a solid backheel where Pex controlled possession before sending a low pass across the Blue Hen box. That pass found a streaking Koreichi, who struck the ball in stride and past the outstretched arm of the keeper to put the Pirates up for good.
